Question Description

Rights,Morality, and the Criminal Justice System Discussion  week 5

There are three different types of rights law enforcement deal with on adaily basis they are human rights, legal rights, and moral rights. Thedefinition of human rights is that they are awarded to every human being theyare not earned nor can they be revoked at any time. An example of this types ofright would be life every human being has the right of life. Legal rights canbe defined as a set of mandatory procedures that the accused person of a crimeis protected by for example the right not to incriminate themselves which isfound in the fifth amendment of the United States constitution. Another greatexample of legal rights is the Miranda vs. Arizona Supreme Court case. Moralrights can be defined as more importance in the aspect of ethics then legal rights. An example of moral rights would be one of our founding fathers ThomasJefferson who constructed the Declaration of independence, and wrote a claim tothe right of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It is very possible to have a scenario where all three of these rights comein to jeopardy however to explain the difference of all I would have to give anexample of a murder. Now the victim’s human right was stripped away when he orshe was murdered. Now the suspect when arrested for the crime has certain legalrights first being that he is innocent until proven guilty and he has the rightto a fast and speedy trial.
